Warm wheat winds of a summer afternoon. There are several banner dotting the landscape, red with white trim, a gladius looking sword hanging is the central image. Some distance to the north a stone city built ontop of, and part of the mountain this field is resting on. “That there is Kolophon, central fortress of the Akros nation. Three main nations here, Akros, Meletis, and Setessa. And if I remember correctly, there are 14 different gods that govern different parts of life on this plane. Kolophon give most of its worship to Iroas, a God of war that work primarily with Victory and Competition. He has a brother Mogris, God of Slaughter and revenge, not approved of in civilized parts, Purphoros a god of craftsmanship, and Keranos. Keranos is sort of a new addition, as Cymede and Annax, don’t remember which one is the wife is a big fan of the Prophecys and insight you gain from currying favor. I’ll have to do more research when we get there to learn about the other gods and the poleis (cities) to figure out where we need to go.” You still have your fatigues, and this time she doesn’t have a change of cloths for you. Shes still in a simple linen dress, but a leather belt across her torso holds a spear the tip glints a bronze light. Your bag still has your basic supplies. After you get over your summoning sickness, any preparations?

"Do we want to blend in? or stick out? Are you well known here or will we simply be anonymous?" My military training starts to kick in. No idea how well it will work on this plane, but gonna give it a try.

"Well I am not known here, and your clothes we cant do much about. You can claim your from Setessa, they build around tree and groves, and there young men leave out at a certain age i think. Anyway it will cover for the green clothing until we can find you something more appropriate. We are going to blend in here, nobody is going to know we are anything but common humans traveling around. For visible weapons knives or shortsword might be ideal, but the forging on your gear is going to boggle them, so try and keep it out of sight unless we really need something for trade." She reaches into the satchel she had on the ground and pulls out a few pieces of jewelry. "This will be sold to cover expenses hopefully. Not sure how much shiny trinkets are worth here." She was you forward and starts walking towards the town as she pulls the satchel on.

"Alright seems simple enough. Any idea of where we should start looking for things?"

"Market? Sell the jewels, rent a room and then probably start looking through any library's they have. Not sure how long this will take." Dusty track of road, but you can see 300 or so soldiers doing formations up ahead. Bronze breastplate, and spear tips, each equipped with shield, and gladius at there side. "Also unless you know how to marshal like that, probably dont want to say your a soldier. Maybe a Ranger since your supposed to be a Setassan? How's your woodcraft?" There is horsemen just beyond them, looking like they are preparing to move out.

"When we get into town try a few lines and see if any of them recognize it. Humans tend to gravitate towards Common on every plane, but the other races tend to have there own. Hows your caligraphy? Well need a ink set for you then aswell to keep the cover, last time i was here i claimed to be a priest of Heliod, his weapons a spear and is a god of farmlands, hearth, community type thing, and does include some healing, so I'll stick with that. I know there was an apothecary god, but it was healing and poisons or something like that, and i didnt know the poisons to try to play the priest." You two give the training Arkoans a wide berth as you get up towards the gates to town. There 4 archers on the wall, and 5 guards at the gate ahead. There seemed to be a set of 8 guards, the 4 archers and 4 hoplites on ground level spaced at intervals all around the city wall. The 5th guard at this gate had more ceremonial shoulder and helm armor, and was question a merchant. "Also, this plane doesnt have any angels either. They closes thing is an Archon."

"Your French sounds familiar i just can't place it. The other one sounds foul, i don't know what it is. When we get up here, ill take the lead but as him in French about there library. If hes they one that deals with foreigners he will probably be able to recognize it. Though i dont think Setassan have any librarys so a woodland scholar might be odd." You wait your turn at the gate, the merchant finally gets through ad your group is up.
"Name, Business and where you coming from?" He asks in a bored, 'I've done this to many times, but protocol...' type voice. He has parchment and ink, doesnt look like hes writing names down, but does have what looks like locations.
"Yaoel, Seer of Heliod. Here to look after the temple. I have traveled from Amatrophon." She said, nearly stumbling on the city name.
"A Keranos temple was sacked at the geyser, did you see any of the Minotaur Horde on the way here?" He ask looking up with a bit of interest.
"I'm sorry, I took a longer path following the coast before turning inland to tackle the mountains. If they are marauding in that area then i must thank Heloid for the blessing, if i had come straight here i may have ran directly into them."
"Yes, Blessing of Heliod. Now you, Name and business?" He asks looking towards you.

"Scholar of Setessan? This isn't going to be a good polis for you. Not many around here speak sylvan. Is your common any good? Near everything you may find at the Library is going to be in Common, or copied manuscripts for Meletis, and they do love there Deep Speech." He said in an accented French. He looks over his board again, "You take the same path here as this priestess?" he continues pointing the stylus towards Yaoel.

"Very well, go on." Looks to Yaoel, and in English, "You may past, help this poor fellow with his common when you can yeah?" She nods and you both make your way into the city. Tall walls, mostly reds and blue adorn the cityscape. Feels almost canyon like, but only a few main roads that allow for chariots, mostly foot paths otherwise. Towering statues are common, many of them with plaques describing the great warrior they were made for. Each statue seems identical though. Yaoel ask for a few direction before she can find a merchant to take the jewelry she has. She receives a few dozen gold coins for her trinkets, each stamped with a pair of faces, Anax and Cymede. She is able to rent out a room, a place to leave the stuff and sleep. "We'll probably want to get you some more realm appropriate clothes, at least we know your French is useful. He tell you anything helpful?" There was just the one bed, as a priest of anything had housing at the temple. "I'll start in the in the Temple archives to look for anything useful, you go ahead and check out there library and familiarize yourself with the area. Most likely well have to go seek out some mages, or find a scroll in some dusty cave and well need to know where that is." she give you 10 of the gold coins. (a rough estimate of worth seems to be about $50 a coin, there is smaller silver and copper coins aswell.)

I explain what the gateguard said. "I will start in the library. Is there anything in particular i should be looking for? Or subjects i should avoid? If i were to ask after demons or demonology would it set off alarms?"

"Um, probably best not at these temples. Remember how i said each being has a color essence? well most likely only gods that have black essence will have that type of info readily available, and not look down on you for searching. Purphoros is red, Iros is Red/white... if you find a temple of Mogris somewhere but itll probably be carved into someones corpse rather then into parchment, Red black. Heloid is solid white. Probably have to find a book or see if theres a collection about the gods. Rather looking into great Heros that may still be alive, or maybe legendary monsters that we could ask to aid us. If there is items of great import or something a god has blessed there blessing on. mainly looking into locations of everything. Ill see what i can do with spellwork." The Temple of Heloid is a minor shrine alongside Iroas at there several minor Colosseum. As you search out the library, you first find that Akroans have a bit of a Superior attitude towards anyone not a Soldier or an Artisan. It takes over an hour to find the library, it is part of, and makes up the small temple/shrine to Ephara, god of the polis. She is co-hapitating with the shine of Kruphix. (Picture is a Colosseum near Heliod temple)
