Michael Hasek - p2 - Golden Bell

Hacek- "Thank you Ueno.", i say suprisingly shyly, "You have been exceptionally helpful so far. To be clear though im looking for down feathers." I look my self over to check my wounds and see if im clothed.

You are not fully healed yet, it will probably take another day of rest. You have the ripped up fatigues you had on when you arrived yesterday when you gave non of the fucks and just went to sleep on a random straw mat. Thinking about it, your not actualy sleeping where you went to bed, they must have moved you sometime in the night. "Wool is easier to come by, it would take a great amount of time or pigeon to get alot of down feathers. The great Moth's arent kept around here, but i understand they have silken fur across there bodies."

Hacek- "Sorry I need them for, well darts."

"Darts?" she asks, her furry face looking uneasy, "The Nazumi or the Soratami's Ninja probably have those. they are dark and treacherous weapons. We pray each day the Daimio and his samurai will protect us from there witchcraft."

Hacek- “Now, now, don't get the wrong impression. i don't intend to go and hurt people or use... wicth..craft. these are part of the supplies i carry for my job. I'm a solideir er well the equilavent of a samurai that you speak of, that is if our meanings are the same . The only difference right now instead of working for my...shogunate master Dusk is my...master? No daimyio no that's too high... forget it he's my commander and he appearently acqired me for my skills...crap i guess that means i might work like one of those ninja but i do it for good people who want to keep bad people from hurting others...” And i don't know why i suddenly felt the need to babble that out to the equivalent of the kitsune from japanese myth. “Look I'm sorry to make you uneasy so before i go about my tasks how about i help around the village to show my thanks if that's ok.”

“It is not necessary.” She bows down again. “Master Dusk is our patron, for now we have failed him. We do not have the tools his samurai need to complete the missions. My deepest apologies.”

Hacek- “Miss Ueno no apologies needed, but two things. One is it permitted to tour the shrine, and two i need some clothes and light armor.”

"Anyone is permitted to pray at the Golden bell while the sun shines each day. If you are in need of armor, we can send for an artisan to construct you a new set. We have none to spare."

Hacek- “I'd appreciate that artisan, and would you be willing to escort me to the temple to pray. I don't feel completely 100%”

"Let me go ask for the artisan and bring you a change of clothes. Then we can set out to see the Temple."

Hacek- “Thank you.” After she leaves I whisper to myself “Where the hell am I?”

A shadow in the corner moved, it seemed to be about the size of a man, but had a very ethreal appearance. "You are on the plane of Kamigawa. say an alternate reality to Earth. Our shared master has deposited you here to collect something and recover from your bout with the vampires." you can’t see a face, just the body shape.

Hacek- “And you are?" I say with a s much politeness as i can manage to a shadow that just scared the fuck out of me.

"Experiment 226, our master is a creature of black mana, darkness. its not very good at healing. He keep ties in places that may become useful. this villiage is brimming with white mana, the color of healing, and community. He figured it would suit your recovery better then the swamps around here. That and the angel went to the rabbits on this plane to recover with her new prize. Wonder what there doing hmm?"

Hacek- “Rabbits? and i haven't the foggiest i'm just so confused to the point i don't care. so I'm just going to perform the missions asked of me for now, because i'm obviously not in Kansas anymore"

"Okay he said he hadnt told you much, but damn. Okay there a multiverse of difffrent wolds, each of them there own flavor. the only thing that is the same is how magic works. There are 5 colors, and each person is inherently steepe in 1 or more colors. each color has its own flavor, Red is emotion energy and fire. Blue, is intelligence, control, black is necrotic and self serving, green is feral and growth an white is healing community order type stuff. That little fox girl that left is a meber of a race of Kitsune. There a common race in this world. there are dozen of diffrent races so im not oing over all of them right now. i called that other race rabbits cause the resemble rabbits and i havent been to this place enough time to actually remember there name. Our master is a Planeswalker, most people never heard of one so keep your mouth shut about it. One of the few being that can walk between the planes and learn the magic of each. Right now we are both mana creature, he summoned us from our realm and formed our body out of pure mana. It will still act like your own so dont stab yourself. He can command us to do stuff, but generally it is better ask cause our free will makes us less clumsy. Got that?"

Hacek- "Right so that is way above my pay grade but i get the gist of it all. So I'm just going to get what I was told to get and go from there." *I try to get up.

Your pack and whats left of the guitar are stashed in the corner, but your set of clothes from there will probably make you stick out.

"Hey, i'm telling you this to make sure you dont go off half-cocked. Magic. These people have it and so do the people your going to be stealing from. You dont know what they can do, and your gonna need to keep your wits about ya."

Hacek- "Oh no I really do understand to a point. The thing is I have seen a lot of stuff in my time more so in the last few days that I can't explain. and so to cope I just focus on the mission. Their ‘magic’ is just some weapon the enemy has that I don't. Not the first time I have been up against those odds won't be the last, but I have to adjust and gather some info so I can prepare accodingly. as they say when in Rome do as the romans do, per say if they have this magic I bet any competent fighting force has ways to counter or at the least combat it."

“Well then, you sound like your all prepared for a wonderful tour. I’ll be watching, and will report back to Master Dusk when you retrieve the weapon.” He fades to nothing.

Ueno Katsumi returned near 10 mins later carrying a basic red kimono. She sets it down next to your bed. "The smith will be here tomorrow to deal with your armor."

Hacek- i put the kimono on

"Is there anything else i can help you with until your armor is prepared?" she asked after helping you into your attire.

Hacek- "Yes i'd like a tour of the village, I like to be familiar with my surroundings."

She leads you outside. It looks like something out of a timepiece of japan, except the wheat part. Wooden building, thatch roofs. People mostly moving about hauling wheat. This is probably just a farming village. Mostly human, but a good handful of Kitsune aswell. The kitsune don’t seem to be doing any of the heavy labor. “The stables are this way, that is the primary grain storage. The larger house at the end there is foremans.” She leads the way to the north side of the village, the stable has normal horses, not really anything odd besides the lack of any real technology. “We do not have any stables for great moths, and our courier service is next to the Foremans house. There isn’t much else to see I’m afraid.”

Hacek- “How long us the journey from here to the temple again? I'm still recovering so is apparently my memory today."

"My Lord, the trip is no more then a day or so on horseback, but it will take a good bit longer if you are to walk. If you could somehow procure a Moth then it would be a short journey indeed."

Hacek- "Would one go about procuring a moth?"

“They are the mounts of the Daimyos samurai, and his own royal messenger, I simply meant if you have already had a friend that has access to one and could give you a ride the trip would be much easier.”

Hacek- “Oh well would you mind arranging this and showing me around the temple?"

"Are you sure you wish me to accompany you to the temple?"

Hacek- “I'd appreciate it, i'm unfamiliar with the land and you make good company.”

“When you are prepared to go, I shall be you escort.” She bows with a smile. Anything else you are looking for until the armor smith shows up tomorrow? this place does not have a brothel.

Hacek- *new bags and sheathes for my blades if need be, the items needed to make smoke bombs and a wide brimmed hat and mask.

Bag helps, the sheathes were fine, but the medical supplies are switched into a satchel instead from all the damage. They are short on materials for smoke bombs, granting you only 3. They don’t have a storage of fireworks at the moment. One bomb make Green smoke, the other make purple. The next morning bright and early an older man has come to measure for your armor. He doesn’t speak common. The hat is simple faire, normal stuff the people use to keep sun off of them while they work, but they only have cloth for covering there mouths.

Hacek- “Also how long on the armor and how am i going to pay for it?”

"The payment already has been covered by Master Dusk, his carriage has sever sets of armor already crafted inside. Hes seeing if you can fit one as you are in a rush." Katsumi translates for you.

Hacek- “Oh, okay.”

“The Master Armorsmith says Master Dusk wanted you in a lighter armor, something that promoted mobility. To this effect he has removed some of the heavier plate, leaving just the main vitals covered. He does have your size, and we can get you outfitted if you will just follow me.”

*The Picture might be a girl, I’m not entirely sure, but it’s the bases for the armor your wearing.
*’Chain shirt’ +4 AC bonus, max +4 Dex bonus, Armor check Penalty -2, Arcane spell failure 20%, doesn’t slow you down.
(Until you get a +8 Dex modifier this is the best light armor you can get, AC+Dex=8 is pretty much the same across the board, this is the one that has the most base AC bonus though in case you are caught flatfooted.)



Hacek- I thank the armor smith for all his hard work and ask his name so I can remember who to thank when this armor saves my life. Then turn to Ueno how i look and ask her if she is ready to venture forth.
